Executives

  • Jack Dinerstein

    Chief Executive Officer and Partner

    With forty-four years of real estate experience, Jack oversees TDC’s development, construction, and management divisions. Currently, TDC has over $1,000,000,000 under construction and development, predominantly in Southern California and Texas. Jack is a member of the Apartment Association Hall of Fame, a past vice-president of the National Apartment Association and Director of the Houston Division of the World President’s Organization.

  • Tom Caltagirone

    Chief Operating Officer and Partner

    As a Certified Public Accountant, Tom brings over thirty-five years of financial and accounting experience to TDC and is responsible for all of the company’s legal and accounting activities. During his tenure, he has structured over $4 billion in partnerships and joint ventures and sold over $3 billion worth of multifamily and condominium product. Tom has served on the Board of Directors and Executive Committees of the Houston Museum of Natural Science and St. Joseph Hospital.

  • Brian Dinerstein

    President and Partner

    Brian is responsible for generating all new acquisitions and development business including capital structure, market focus and site selection. Prior to working for TDC, Brian worked at Wells Fargo and Internet Capital Group. Brian graduated from Vanderbilt University and is a member of the National Multifamily Housing Council’s Board of Directors, the Urban Land Institute’s Multifamily Blue Council and the Young Presidents Organization Houston Chapter. Brian and his wife, Liz, are the proud parents to Molly (9) and Billy (5).

  • John Caltagirone

    Chief Investment Officer and Partner

    John is a Partner as well as Chief Investment Officer of all TDC operating companies. John’s primary responsibilities include all property dispositions and financing activities, as well as overseeing all company operations. In addition, John plays a prominent role in developing the Company’s strategic growth plans. John is a member of the National Multi Housing Council’s Board of Directors and the ULI University Development Student Housing Council where he serves as Vice Chair. Before joining TDC, John worked at Lend Lease Real Estate Investments in Dallas, Texas. John graduated from The University of Texas at Austin McCombs School of Business.

  • Brad Dinerstein

    Managing Partner, Development & Construction

    Brad has been directly involved in the design and construction of over 6,500 multi-family units in multiple markets throughout California, Nevada, Texas, and the Southeastern United States. His primary responsibilities include overseeing TDC’s construction division as well as managing all design efforts for the company’s student housing and market rate developments. Brad is a licensed contractor in the states of Arizona, California, Nevada, Arkansas, and Florida as well as a LEED AP with the US Green Building Council. A graduate of The University of Georgia, he began his career working in construction management with Atlanta based Perennial Properties. Brad is involved in numerous charitable organizations throughout Houston and currently holds a position on the advisory board of Casa de Esperanza.

  • T.H. "Ted" Dinerstein

    CHAIRMAN AND PARTNER

    A co-founder of The Dinerstein Companies (TDC) in 1955, Ted continues to oversee all construction activity and management company policies for the company. He is a life director and member of the National Association of Home Builders, as well as past President of the Greater Builders Association. He was elected to the National Housing Center Hall of Fame and has been named Builder of the Year. A Papal Citation and the Torch of Liberty Award represent a small fraction of the awards for his nearly four decades of business and civic contribution.

  • Josh Vasbinder

    West Coast Partner

    Based in Solana Beach, Mr. Vasbinder’s primary responsibilities include identifying, negotiating and acquiring development opportunities throughout the Western US. Since joining the company in 2008, he has been responsible for the acquisition and development of over 3,200 residential units with a valuation over $1.2B. He is currently active in a number of markets, including Los Angeles, Santa Monica, San Diego and Austin. He is a member of the San Diego Building Industry Association and the Mission Valley Planning Group.

  • Clay Hicks

    President - Management Division

    Clay is responsible for the operational oversight of all multifamily properties for TDC. Prior to joining TDC, Clay was a Managing Director for Greystar where he helped direct the operations of over 40,000 units of real estate operations in the Central South Region. Clay is a graduate of Texas A&M University. He currently sits on the Board of Directors for both the Texas Apartment Association and Houston Apartment Association, where he was named to the inaugural "Forty Under 40" class.

  • Patrick Dennis

    President - Construction Division

    Patrick Dennis joined TDC in June of 2015 as the President of Construction, where he oversees all Construction operations, from pre-development to completion. Prior to that, he successfully managed the construction and completion of over 5,000 apartment units, totaling over $1.1B for Wood Partners. Dennis, a graduate of Texas A&M University, held leadership roles with JE Dunn Construction in Houston prior to joining Wood Partners on the west coast and eventually overseeing all of Wood’s west coast construction operations.

  • Mike Brown

    Chief Financial Officer

    Mike has over twenty-three years of experience, including public accounting and corporate financial positions.
    Mike is a graduate of Texas A&M University and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
